Although the element
manganese forms a part of substances essential for body metabolism,
known as enzymes, no definite deficiency has been recognized in humans.
In animals, deficiency can lead to abnormalities of the developing skeleton,
of balance, and of carbohydrate and fat metabolism. Manganese poisoning
from food is very unlikely.
MANGANESE
INTAKE

safe and adequate range of intake for adults (U.S.A.) is 2500 to 5000
